Expanding on the two-player format, The Simpsons (4 Players World, set 1) allows for a more chaotic and collaborative experience. The gameplay retains the side-scrolling beat 'em up style, but the added players enhance the cooperative aspect and potentially allow for more strategic play.  The levels and enemies within this version also differ from the two-player sets.
