Doom for SEGA 32X is a port of id Software’s legendary first-person shooter, bringing the demon-slaying action to Sega’s add-on console. Players step into the role of a space marine battling hordes of monsters across Mars’ moons and Hell itself, armed with iconic weapons like the shotgun and plasma rifle. While the 32X version lacked some levels from the PC original and had scaled-back visuals, it ran smoother than many other console ports of its time. Doom on 32X introduced many players to the FPS genre and showcased the potential of 3D-style gaming on Sega hardware, making it a landmark release despite its limitations.
