Columns is a puzzle game originally developed by Jay Geerts for the Sega Game Gear. The Game Gear version follows the established formula of matching three or more colored gems to clear them from the playing field.  It's known for its simple yet addictive gameplay. While the Sega Game Gear version is the one we are referring to here, this game has been released on many platforms.  Sega published the game, though its development history could involve multiple contributors.
