Madden NFL 98, released for the Sega Genesis, marked the continuation of EA's popular football franchise on the console. While not as graphically advanced as later entries in the series, it retained the core gameplay of American football simulation that defined the Madden series.  Features likely included team rosters reflecting the 1997 NFL season, the standard gameplay of running, passing, and defensive plays, and different game modes. EA Sports developed and published the game.
