Sonic 2 Mania Edition is a fan-made ROM hack of the classic Sega Genesis game, Sonic the Hedgehog 2. It retains the core gameplay of the original while adding numerous enhancements, such as new levels, updated graphics, and improved music.  The project is a testament to the enduring popularity of Sonic 2 and the creative energy of the modding community.  It was not produced by Sega or any official entity, but rather a team of dedicated fans.
