The American release of Super Turrican maintained the core gameplay elements established in the original Amiga and European SNES versions. However, like other regional releases, slight differences may exist in terms of minor details.  The focus remained on delivering a fast-paced, action-oriented experience.  The game shares the same developer and publisher information as the other Super Turrican releases.  The success of the game on the SNES contributed to its reputation as one of the system's stronger action titles.
