Battle Arena Toshinden 3 continued the series, introducing updated graphics, refined fighting mechanics, and new characters to the Playstation. Released in 1997, it attempted to balance the speed of the previous games with a more tactical approach to combat. However, it received mixed reviews compared to its predecessors, suggesting a shift in the series that didn't resonate with all players.  Taito continued their role as the developer and publisher.
