Columns is a puzzle game originally developed by Jay Geerts and ported to the Sega Game Gear. This version shares the gameplay of the original:  matching three or more colored gems vertically or horizontally to clear them from the screen.  The objective is to prevent the gems from piling up to the top.  Sega likely handled publishing this version, leveraging the game's popularity on other platforms.
